Gabrielle Meyer does it again. In Every Hour Until Then, the setup crackles, the stakes sting, and the clock never stops.
In Every Hour Until Then, Kathryn Voland lives two lives—Victorian London in 1888 and pre–World War II Washington, D.C. in 1938. Gifted with the ability to time-cross, she’s torn between eras and destinies. In 1938, Kathryn is invited to London to curate a groundbreaking museum exhibit on Jack the Ripper. But as she digs into the Ripper’s reign of terror, she makes a chilling discovery—her own sister is destined to become his final victim decades earlier.
Determined to rewrite fate, Kathryn crosses back to 1888 and joins forces with her handsome childhood friend to hunt down history’s most elusive killer. As the danger mounts, she must choose between unmasking a murderer and losing the only man she’s ever loved.
Meyer threads history, romance, and faith with page-turning brilliance. The Jack the Ripper angle raises the tension without gore, while the emotional and spiritual themes shine through without ever feeling heavy-handed. This is historical fiction at its most imaginative—smart, suspenseful, and heart-thumping to the very end. Five shining stars.
I tore through chapters, grinning at the clever time-crossing rules and gasping when the twists landed. It’s book five in the Timeless series, but it reads clean if you’re new—series fans will love the callbacks, newcomers won’t feel lost.
Bottom line: unforgettable heroine, high-stakes choice, and a finish that hits in the ribs. Highly recommended.
