MY LIFE AS A WRITER

Many of you are aware that I am a writer, but you have no idea what kind of work I do. Well, it is time to remedy that.

Writing is not a hobby for me, it is my profession. After spending more than twenty years in corporate sales and marketing, I made a huge career U-turn and wrote a book. It was an insane idea; I had never had a word published. In fact, If you would have told me back in 2005 that I would be wearing pajama pants to work instead of suits and pantyhose, I would have recommended a good therapist. Yet here I am interviewing the noteworthy and notorious… from former terrorists to CIA operatives to pop stars. Through my work, I have the privilege of sharing my own insights along with the stories of some pretty amazing people. I’m living proof that dreams really do come true…sometimes they just take a while.

Since then, I have been a very busy girl. I’ve settled in as an author, ghostwriter, editor, and speaker. My work is regularly featured in magazines and newspapers around the world, my pieces ranging from business, spirituality, health, parenting, and the different stages of life. I specialize in celebrity profiles.

I am also the author/coauthor of eight books. I have several of my own books on store shelves, but at this point I am probably best known as a ghostwriter. I’ve been honored to collaborate on some amazing projects with some highly knowledgeable subject matter experts: a famous drummer, a popular speaker and TV host, a former drug addict turned international speaker, a retired homicide detective, two former CIA agents, a leadership development guru, and a World War II historical novelist to mention just a few.

These books have already been published (in order of release):

THE BIG GIG
By Zoro with Amy Hammond Hagberg

I co-authored this book with world-famous drummer, Zoro. The Big Gig is much more than just an intriguing and comprehensive insider’s guide to breaking into the music industry as an independent musician. Compelling and thought-provoking, it is an excellent resource for leadership training, networking techniques, and personal development. The Big Gig is the first book that describes the inner workings of the highly competitive music industry as seen through the eyes of a world-renowned and highly successful musician. The Big Gig provides a template for success by covering the vocational, personal, and spiritual aspects of a musician’s life. It is much more than educational; it is inspirational, motivational, and life-changing.

FACING THE DRAGON: How a Desperate Act Pulled One Addict Out of Methamphetamine Hell
By David Parnell with Amy Hammond Hagberg

After more than twenty-three years addicted to methamphetamine and other drugs, David Parnell put an SKS assault rifle under his chin and pulled the trigger. The blast took off half his face, yet somehow he survived. Following an afterlife experience where he briefly experienced hell, David woke up in the hospital, and was changed forever. In Facing the Dragon, you will witness the slow, agonizing metamorphosis of a good-looking high-school athlete into a violent, drug-dealing, psychotic wife-beater whose children were terrified of him. In graphic detail, you’ll relive his suicide attempts and then walk alongside him as he endures countless surgeries to reconstruct his decimated face and learns how to cope with his hideous disfigurement. Now thirty-nine, Parnell is clean and sober and is making the most of the second chance he’s been given, bringing his message about the dangers of meth and other drugs to schools, prisons, churches, and antidrug organizations around the world as a full-time lecturer. By experiencing the nightmare of his life—and his brief glimpse of hell—you will find hope and healing when facing your own life-threatening dragons.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see wrinkles, blemishes, fatigue and pain or a beautiful reflection of a woman of strength, good character, courage and passion? She also shares her own personal struggles with eating disorders, a broken marriage, troubled teens, and financial hardship, and explores how they have shaped her character.

Ransomed will help you learn to become confident with who you are and what you look like, both inside and out. Unveil the incredible woman God created you to be! Then you will be able to truly love yourself and thrive as a beautiful woman.
